Restaurant Di Wang – a reconstruction of an existing basement-level nightclub that was converted into a beer restaurant called Line Brew, while the first floor was given over to a Chinese cuisine restaurant.
The philosophy of traditional culture adapted to modern realities; non-standard associative resolutions of oriental motifs – the conceptual framework of the project design.
The familiar Chinese style is interpreted from a position of near-European classicism. This was expressed in strict laconism, the proportionality of the space and its substantive content, with its own interpretation of the iconic elements of Chinese culture. Thus, the image of the mandarin tree found its reflection in the structural form of four chandeliers, from which are found hanging, not mandarins, but lights. They are located in the center of the space, dominating the interior. The other motifs in the design are executed and expressed along the same lines.
In Chinese culture, wood is one of the worldly elements. As such, it holds great significance within the interior. Altogether, all of the walls can be made of wood.
Located in the basement, the beer restaurant Line Brew is made in a European style. The aesthetic format is recognizable in the finishing of the walls, light fixtures, furniture, and traditional set of pieces.
