O’NER residential complex is being built at the intersection of the main line of Abay Avenue and Turgut-Ozala Street. This area of the city, which has been undergoing rapid redevelopment in recent years, is one of the main urban centers of Almaty, where in Soviet times there was predominantly single-storey residential buildings.
The conceptual basis of the project was the desire to create an architectural and spatial composition capable of decorating the profile of such an important thoroughfare for the city as Abay Avenue, as well as to create a high-level residential environment worthy of modern requirements of comfort and coziness.
Seventeen buildings of different heights: from 12 to 16 floors are located on an area of 3, 37 hectares and represent two separate independant neighborhoods of business and comfort class.
The main buildings of the O’NER complex, directly facing the profile of Abaya Avenue, stand out from the general architectural and spatial composition, designed in the same style. These are three high-rise prismatic tower types of forms, which are the compositional accent of the buildings on the grid of intersection of the square of streets.
The functional objectives of the project, of course, formed the core of the architectural composition as a whole. But the desire to create an aesthetically pleasing image and hide the visual heaviness of the mass of large architectural volumes overlooking the main highway, led to a special design of their forms. The plasticity of these objects is characterized by light projections across the vertical planes of facades, forming the corner edges, and the tiered completion of the volumes is crowned by a kind of "crown" of golden lattice.
The visual lightening of the mass is facilitated by the coloristic range: the design of slightly rounded facades with orthogonal breakdown of the surface with hinged cladding panels is solved in light tones. The decorative cladding uses juxtapositions of different types of materials: granite (ground floor and lower level), travertine, aluminum decorative profiles, stained glass, facade ceramics.
Thus, the architecture of the complex of two blocks is characterized by coloristic solutions and nuances in the plasticity of forms. Their aesthetic appeal, created on the basis of Art Deco style interpretation, along with the solution of functional tasks, were the guidelines for the entire team of INK Architects.
In general, O’NER Residential Complex is a self-sufficient multifunctional complex, which has built-in premises for commercial and other needs at the basement level, landscape design of rectangular courtyard spaces is designed with all children's and sports grounds and recreation areas.
The estate itself is close to large cultural, business and shopping centers. This is one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Almaty at the moment, and the stylistic unity of the O’NER Residential Complex sets it apart from the surrounding urban environment.
