El Mirador, located in Almaty, is a three-level restaurant with stylistic hints of a beer restaurant.
The artistic concept of the project reflects fantasies of European classical themes with an incorporation of industrial technologies from the last two centuries. Classicism comes through in the overall composition of the space and in the construction of the wooden partitions, while the materials used carry industrial signs.
The stage, the essential part of the interior design, was created in the form of a pavilion with an almost grotesque interpretation of three-leaved semicircular bases supported by columns decorated with bronze sheets.
The finishing involves a great deal of wood, ceramics from Mexico, and totally mismatched fans brought in from America.
The upper tier is dominated by subdued light from the simplest of lamps placed in a single pane glass rectangle, invoking the spirit of early twentieth century pieces. The interior features many details of a similar kind.
