Leading Kazakhstani architectural firm INK Architects has designed the unique NRG Oybek residential complex in Tashkent, the second phase of which recently began construction. It has become not only a comfortable and technologically advanced residence, but also a highlight of one of the central districts of the Uzbek capital.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has been implementing large-scale reforms aimed at economic development and improving the population's well-being. According to the latest data, gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 5.8% from January to March, compared to 2.6% in the first quarter of 2021. In particular, the construction sector, compared to the first three months of last year, showed growth dynamics from 3.8% to 6.3%, making it particularly attractive to foreign investors. This is evidenced by the 1.5-fold increase in the volume of foreign direct investment (FDI) and investments financed by foreign loans.
One of the first striking examples of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan was the implementation of the NRG Oybek residential complex, designed by the Kazakh architectural firm INK Architects. The residential complex is a technologically advanced building with a new living philosophy, incorporating innovative and modern technologies.
"The residential complex is a bold vision of modern housing that combines comfort, aesthetics, and innovation. This project was a significant challenge for the INK Architects team, not only in terms of the functional and technological features but also in creating a comfortable environment that seamlessly integrates with the historical and cultural context of Tashkent. Tashkent's architecture is extremely diverse and multifaceted, featuring both old and new styles. Creating a project for such a city that would coexist with this diversity was an important task for us," noted Nurlan Kamitov, founder of INK Architects.
The architects drew inspiration from the architecture of the Uzbek capital, Eastern culture, and local traditions and customs. Therefore, the residential complex represents a blend of a modern interpretation of the country's historical heritage and functionalist architecture. The buildings emphasize the representativeness and sophistication of the architectural form, characteristic of Eastern traditions. Subtle differences in depth and height between the buildings and small, transparent corner terraces blend seamlessly into the overall composition.
Elegance, noble simplicity, and the distinctive character of Uzbekistan make this project unique and impressive. Reminiscences of national culture are reflected in the façade decor and conveyed through a contemporary interpretation of the country's classical architectural heritage. Elements of traditional ornamentation and a color scheme that incorporates local traditions add originality and authenticity to the luxurious façades. According to the architects, NRG Oybek offers a fresh perspective on contemporary architecture with a historical heritage. The NRG Oybek residential complex is a project in which architects have combined the historical heritage of Uzbekistan with contemporary urban lifestyle trends.
This project by Kazakh architects will also set a new level of residential comfort. NRG Oybek is distinguished not only by its unique architectural design but also fully meets all modern needs for entertainment, relaxation, and socializing. The Eastern hospitality for which Uzbekistan is renowned is reflected in cozy apartments with meticulously designed layouts, perfect for welcoming numerous guests. Construction has already begun on the second phase of the residential complex, which covers a total area of 66,000 square meters. Plans are underway to open a guest room for residents, complete with its own service company.
In the near future, it is planned to create several more new urban development projects through joint international efforts.
